FAKE! No evidence that Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said ‘there was no Dumsor throughout our eight years in government’

A flyer with the photo of Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, MP for Ofoasi Ayirebi has been trending online. The flyer has the logo of UTV and the photo of the member of parliament, with the inscription “There was no Dumsor throughout our eight years in government”.
The inscription is a transcription of a comment supposedly passed by the MP. The flyer has been shared severally on Instagram, Facebook [Post, Post 2, Post 3, Post 4, Post 5, Etc] and Twitter (now X).

Factcenta has verified the authenticity of the flyer and presents the facts below.

Verdict: Fake
Explanation
To verify whether Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said those words during any of his media appearances or encounters, Factcenta analyzed all interviews, public engagements and press conferences in which he appeared and participated in between June 9th 2025 and June 11th 2025.
We found no evidence in all video footages analyzed, in which Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made those statements. Secondly, there is no publicly available and verifiable video clip of the member of parliament saying those words.
In addition, we analyzed all news publications between June 9th 2025 and June 11th 2025, and found no credible news publication attributing the above statements to the member of parliament.
Finally, we checked the official social media pages of UTV Ghana and found that they had never posted the said viral image on any of their pages. Further investigation of the image indicates that may have been initially shared on Twitter, but was quickly deleted.
The claim attributed to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in the viral flyer is therefore FAKE and non-existent.

Some context
Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has been speaking against government’s recent Energy Sector Levy (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which was introduced in Parliament on Tuesday, [June 3, 2025] under a certificate of urgency by the Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson. According him, the levy is a an act of wickedness and a stab in the back of Ghanaians.
